Data licensing for business owners

Your business data has value to AI labs. Keep owning it.

Veteran Strategic represents companies that lease or license their proprietary data to AI labs. Your data is de-identified before anything leaves, you approve every lab and every deal, and your company keeps ownership.

No upfront fee. We're paid a share of what the lab pays.

How it works

Four steps, and you approve each one

  1. Start with a conversation

Tell us what your business is and what records you keep. We'll talk through whether it's the kind of data AI labs are looking for. No data changes hands at this stage.

  2. Review and de-identify

Together we decide what's in scope. Personal and sensitive details are removed before anything leaves your company, and you see what would be shared.

  3. You approve the lab and the deal

We bring you the lab and the proposed terms: what the data can be used for, for how long, and what you're paid. Nothing moves forward without your sign-off.

  4. License it and keep ownership

The lab pays for access under a written agreement. We're paid a share of what the lab pays. Your company keeps ownership of the data.

Why lease or license

Lease it. License it. Keep it.

Your data took years to build. Leasing or licensing lets AI labs pay to use it while it stays yours, instead of a one-time handover where it's gone for good.

You keep ownership

A license grants defined access for a defined use. The data stays an asset on your side of the table.

You set the terms

Scope, permitted use, and length of the agreement are agreed in writing before anything is shared.

It can keep earning

Because you still own it, the same data can support future agreements where your terms allow.

You can say no

You approve every lab and every deal. If the fit or the terms aren't right, you walk away.

Data protection

Protection comes before any deal

We treat your data the way you would: carefully, with as little shared as possible, and only with your say-so.

  • De-identified first

Personal and sensitive information is removed before any data leaves your company.

  • Your approval, every time

No lab gets access and no deal is signed without your explicit approval.

  • Only what's in scope

Only the data named in the agreement is shared. Nothing more.

  • Terms in writing

Each agreement spells out permitted use and duration before anything is shared.

  • Security-minded review

Our process is shaped by Richard Catlin's background in cybersecurity and HIPAA.

FAQ

Common questions

Something else on your mind? Email Jeremy.

Do I give up ownership of my data?

No. You lease or license access to it under a written agreement. Ownership stays with your company the whole time.

What does it cost me?

Nothing upfront. We're paid a share of what the AI lab pays for the license, so we're paid only when you are.

What kinds of data do AI labs license?

Proprietary business data that's hard to find elsewhere: operations documents, SOPs, CRM data, project histories, and specialized collections of text or records in a particular field. On a first call we'll talk through what you have and whether it's a likely fit.

What about personal information about customers or employees?

Data is de-identified before anything leaves your company. If something can't be properly de-identified, it isn't part of the deal.

Who decides which labs get access?

You do. You approve every lab and every deal. You can decline any of them.

Do I need to send data to get started?

No. Please don't send any data in your first email. Start with a short description of your business and the kinds of records you keep.

Have proprietary data? Let's talk about it.

Send Jeremy a short note about your business and the records you keep. No data needed, and no upfront fee.
